Phase I
Scheduled for: October 2004 - March 2005 (Completed Jan 05)
- Improving the bathrooms, including handicapped accessibility
- Stair access to upstairs storage areas
- New exits on left and right of audience
Phase II
Scheduled for: May 2005 - September 2005 (Completed Oct 05)
Extensive renovations to the Front of House areas, including:
- New Entrance to Building
- New Box Office
- New Concession Area
- Newly renovated Lobby
Phase III
Scheduled for: May 2006 - September 2006 (Completed Oct 06)
Extensive renovations to the exterior of the building, including:
- Painting, and repairing the exterior of the building
- New signage created and mounted on the side of the building
Phase IV
Scheduled for: May 2007 - September 2007 (Completed Oct 07)
- The upstairs was gutted and a new storage space was created
- A new roof and reinforced supports on the existing building were added
- Completed designs for the new business office, shops, dressing and green rooms
Phase IV
Scheduled for: May 2008 - September 2008
Extensive renovations to the backstage areas, including:
- New Dressing rooms and Bathrooms for Actors
- New Green Room
- New business offices
- Adding a new heating & air conditioning system to allow for year-round use of the facility
- Expanding the size of the stage
- Additional access to upstairs areas
Phase IV
Scheduled for: May 2009 - September 2009
- Raising the ceiling over the stage for improved lighting and scenic possibilities
- Upgrading the lighting and sound equipment
- Reconfiguration of Audience Seating to improve visibility and comfort
- New seats
- Finalize and combine all electrical and climate control systems
- Improving the building facade, marguee, signage and grounds to help create a beautiful gateway into downtown Lewiston
Capital Campaign News
The Public Theatre Awarded $250,000 Grant
Jane's Trust awards the Theatre one its largest grant amounts for 2006 in support of high quality arts experience. Funds from Boston-based Jane's Trust will go to support The Public Theatre's Capital Campaign.
